Soul Edge

Siegfried drops to one knee. He looks at the bigger blade of Soul Edge, which is sticking out of the ground. He inches towards it....

Bad Ending
Siegfried grabs the sword and holds it over his head in victory, only to have it clamp down on his hand and transform him into Nightmare. The scene shifts to Siegfried, now Nightmare standing on a cliff, overlooking a village.

Good Ending
Siegfried hoists Faust over his head and shatters Soul Edge. The scene switches to Siegfried standing on top of a mountain, crying and sobbing about what to do next. It seems that he had finally come out of denial about killing his own father.

Soul Calibur


The time had come... with countless souls stolen from brave warriors, the evil sword now transformed into an apparition of his father.

Frederick: Siegfried, my dear son...
Siegfried F... father...!

Frederick: Pierce me with this sword.
Siegfried: What?!

Frederick: I'm nothing more than an illusion. Reflect back upon your sins and repent.

Standing before his father's grave, he whispered to himself, "Is redemption possible?" And so he embarked upon a journey with atonement at his cross to bear, embracing within his heart the last wishes of his father.

There was nothing to stand in the way of the wind that cut through this valley. The evil within him had been exorcised, and now the warrior cast his eyes upon the windblown valley.

His childhood memories, the valiant figure of his father, the beginning of his madness, and the Schwarzwind (Black Wind).

Man: Siegfried, where have you been for the last three years?
Siegfried: I shall tell you about it someday.

Familiar faces, new faces... it seemed the Schwarzwind was alive and well.

Siegfried: Demons are on the attack! Prepare to fight, men!

And thus a new wind began to blow...

Soul Calibur 2


"Resist the evil presence!" The dormant soul within him awakened. Sanity regained, he took his sword in hand and vowed to never sleep again as he wandered the lands. Eventually, he came upon a crevasse that ran deep into the earth and cast the sword into its dark abyss. He then destroyed the path leading to the chasm and became its guardian for eternity...

Soul Calibur 3

Siegfried stares down at Soul Edge, and several versions of Nightmare appear. They tell him that it's a sin for him to be alive at all. They surround him and are about to attack...

Bad Ending
They all get struck by lightning. Siegfried looks to the sky, as a thanks to his father, whose death he is responsible for it. He says that he will live on.

Good Ending
Siegfried counter-attacks and kills them all. Their words echo in his mind, telling him he has no right to live. He say's that living will be his redemption.
