Soul Calibur (Dreamcast)

Astaroth Glitch

Select Taki or Voldo in Practice Mode. Then select Astaroth as your opponent. Perform any grab on Astaroth and in the middle of the action press Start. Then select Start Replay. After a few seconds into the replay press Start again. Astaroth will then be performing various funny moves and poses.

Kilik Glitch

Select Cervantes in Practice Mode. Then select Kilik as your opponent. Perform any throw on Kilik and press start before the move is finished. Then select Start Replay. While viewing the replay press start again. When you return to the fight Kilik will be hovering in the air, falling, and making funny poses. Different throws that you make on him to make this glitch work will make Kilik do different things.

Rock Glitch

Select Cervantes in Practice Mode. Then select Rock as your opponent. Do any throw move on Rock and press start in the middle of the action. Then select Start Replay. During the replay press Start again and rock will be making poses and high jumps.

Voldo Glitch

Select Cevantes with Voldo as your opponent in Practice Mode. Do any throw on Voldo and before the move gets completed press start. Then select Start Replay. During the replay press Start again. When you return to the fight Voldo will be flying through the air!

Voldo Glitch 2

Select Astaroth with Voldo as your opponent in Practice Mode. Do any throw on Voldo and before the move gets completed press start. Then select Start Replay. During the replay press Start again. When you return to the fight Voldo will be doing various funny poses.

Weapon Select Feature

This allows you to use your characters' alternate outfit's weapons with their original outfit. After unlocking picture 224, you can now use this feature. In Arcade/Versus mode, just press the L button to cycle weapons from 1p, 2p or Edgemaster versions.

Control The Camera During A Replay

During a replay, move the analogue stick to move the camera view and press X and Y buttons to zoom in or out. The B button can be pressed to change the camera from focusing on one fighter to the other.

Use Different Costumes During Battle

On the Character Select screen, press the Y button on any character to select their second costume. To select a third costume for a character, hold the Y button and press A. Some characters do not have third costumes and you must unlock them in Mission Battle Mode first before you can select them.

Play With The Keyboard

Plug the Dreamcast keyboard into the first controller port. The Enter key acts as the Start button, the arrow keys move, and the Z/X/C/S1 buttons corresponds to the four main buttons on the controller.

Secret Locations In Mission Battle Mode

You must complete all normal and extra missions first.
  • Move your pointer around the area of Korea on the easternmost map until the mission confirmation tone sounds. The mission option should now be available.
  • Move to the westernmost map and move your pointer around Russia until the you hear the same sound as before. The mission option should now be available.

Fight as Unknown Soul

Hold R when selecting your character to make them an Unknown Soul.

Sophitia's Secret! (Japan version Only)

Here's one unneccessary feature. On the selection screen, choose Sophitia and hold one of the following buttons below until you see Sophitia do her pre-battle pose. She will now have a new color of panties when she enters the battle!
X - Pink
Y - Blue
B - Black
R-Trigger - Yellow (Press R-Trigger after choosing her or you'll activate metallic mode.)
L-Trigger - No effect
A - White (original color)

Soul Calibur 2 (All Console Versions)

Secret Name Entry for Default Characters' Names

Type in SAKURA_AKA for your Name Entry in Arcade Mode when you finished the game. This will cancel your Name as "Sakura_Aka" and changed it to the default names of the character you've selected. Example: Type in SAKURA_AKA when using Seung Mina, and your name will automatically changed back to Seung Mina instead.

Choose Victory Pose

Before your character does his/her victory pose after a battle, hold a button to do a certain victory pose assigned to each button.

Soul Calibur 2 (PS2 Only)

Choose Charade's Weapon

When you are playing in a weapon chooosing mode, after selecting a character and choose a weapon, hold Square. A sound will appear and then go to Charade. If you did this correctly, you will get that weapon for Charade in that round.

Soul Calibur 2 (Gamecube Only)

Super-Fast Game Mode

In the pal version of the game, choose 60Hz option, then, when the "data loaded" screen appears quickly reset your sistem and then choose the 50Hz option.Game will now run super-fast.

Faster ways to bypass name-entry screen

At the name entry screen enter your name as all A's to have it change to your character's default name. This is quicker than the SAKURA_AKA method. For the fastest way, press Start and it will automatically enter the character's name (I.E. Taki, Mitsurugi). This is faster than the "AAAAAAAAAA" method and the "SAKURA_AKA" method.

Sophitia's different quotes

Some of Sophitia's in-battle quotes change, depending on the gender of her opponent. After performing one of her throws, she'll say, "How's that?!" to the male fighters, whereas she'll ask "Are you okay?" to the female fighters.

Arcade Mode Quotes

In Weapon Master mode, before a battle, hold the control stick in a certain direction. The character would say different quotes from the Arcade mode.

Character Color Editing Glitch

  • Select the character you want to edit, with the weapon.
  • When the character select screen fades to black, hold R1+R2+L1+L2.
  • should then hear a sound confirming you have done it correctly.
  • Now you should see a 4th article of clothing to edit!!!
